DMV Home Fix provides home repair services in Northern Virginia. This page explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what happens to it.
What we collect when you send a request
- Your name, phone number and email address, so we can reply to you.
- The property address, so we can confirm the service area and plan the visit.
- Your to-do list, preferred timing, repair details, and any photos you choose to upload.
Technical information
When you submit the request form, your connection’s IP address is used briefly for spam prevention and rate limiting (a short-lived counter, kept for about an hour). Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs to run and secure the website.
Why we collect it
Only to review your request, ask follow-up questions, prepare scope and scheduling information, and carry out work you ask us to do. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information or your photos to anyone.
Where your request is stored
Your request is stored privately in this website’s management system. Photos are saved with randomized file names in a storage area that is not publicly reachable on the web (it sits outside the website’s public directory). They can be opened only by DMV Home Fix – either after logging in to the site’s administration, or through security-signed links that expire after 7 days.
Email delivery
A copy of your request, including expiring security-signed links to your photos, is delivered to DMV Home Fix’s business email address so we can respond. Website hosting and email service providers process this data on our behalf in order to operate the site and deliver messages; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies at this time. If you use the to-do builder, your selections are kept temporarily in your own browser (session storage) so they can pre-fill the estimate form, and they are cleared after you send your request.
How long we keep it, and deletion
We keep requests for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep a record of work performed. You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your request and photos, and we will do so unless a legal or record-keeping obligation requires us to keep something.
